Weddings are followed by many social gatherings and outings with families and friends. She needs to maintain the wedding-day-chic-look in all the gatherings she attends after marriage. And for the same the self dependent girl of today needs to master the art of make up by herself.
WedAbout with the help of their expert Latika Khurana (She holds a professional certificate from International Make up Studio Academy and has more than 5 years of experience in the industry) reveals to you all the secrets you need to know to get those perfect make up strokes on your own (without spending a penny of course!).
Latika says, “at times you may find it difficult to visit your stylist or the make-up expert while getting ready for any gathering. In such a case it is very important that you, as a self dependent woman know the skills of doing make up in the right manner to save yourself.”
Makeup is done to beautify you. Indeed it is. But if not done correctly it has all the powers to turn the worst of your nightmares to reality! Hence to let the make-up do justice to you it is important to get acknowledged with the ABC of Makeup. Latika says “let makeup add only glamour to your personality. Errors like any wrong shade of lipstick chosen or excess of foundation on your skin may prove to be disastrous”.
While doing makeup you should be aware of all the constraints that affect it.
“Know your skin problem. The key is to hide those skin problems like patchy skin, dark circles, blemishes, pores, pimples etc. Example, one with oily skin should avoid the use of creamy foundation. Whereas for a dry skin type the key is to keep the skin hydrated and moisturised” says our expert.
“An oval shaped face is supposed to be ideal” says Latika. She adds “to balance any other face cut type, a technique called “contouring” is used which creates an illusion of an oval face.”
Yes! Your makeup varies with the changing season. A cream based makeup is ideal for winters. Whereas during summers, moisturisers and cream based primers are a big no-no!
You cannot sport one type of make up for all occasions. Depending on the time and type of occasion, make up is done. A daylight occasion demands for a light neutral make up. For night events, you can afford to go a little glittery.
“The trend is to highlight one feature while keeping the rest neutral. Smoky or glittery eyes are the latest trends. Days are gone when people went all flashy with their makeup. Today’s call is for minimalistic makeup sporting all the neutral shades like peaches and oranges. To add a little of glamour to it, winged eyeliners with smoky lower liners are the best options to go for” mentions Latika.
For a makeup to work magically, one must have a beautiful skin which demands efforts and care. Latika reveals the secret to us “CTM (Cleansing, Toning and Moisturising) should be your mantra for a spotless skin. Make it a part of your everyday routine. Drinking plenty of water positively results in a hydrated skin”.
