A bride wants a lehenga just like her favorite actress but she does not know how to get it. Well, all these seem passé now. Brides now have the option of renting their bridal lehenga without shelling a fortune and look stunning like her favorite actress. Bridal rental fashion is sans doubt the way ahead.

WedAbout got in touch with the famous bridal rental store in Delhi, Dress Like Celebrity owned by husband-wife duo Vikalp and Preetika Gupta, to understand why it is the most in thing to rent your lehenga.

1. Affordability

Vikalp, who is an MBA from Symbiosis, feels that affordable fashion is the prime reason for the bridal rental trend. His point is very clear that “Instead of spending thousands on your bridal lehenga you can rent it easily. Also the money saved can be made to buy gold jewellery which is a better investment. Secondly, you can go to your dream destination for honeymoon and create beautiful memories.”After all who does not want to save their hard earned money for better purposes?

2. No Storage and Maintenance woes

Buying a lehenga is a different story and preserving and maintaining it is a whole chapter. Not only it takes a lot of space in your closet, it requires maintaining it regularly. You would always want to make some changes in it to suit the current fashion. Vikalp adds that “Smart people would rather rent and not buy.”

3. Modern Outlook

Nowadays no one wants to keep their bridal lehenga for heirloom. People’s beliefs and attitudes are turning more contemporary and practical. So, buying a lehenga believing that your daughter may wear does not make sense, because of fashion changes every day. Vikalp tells from his experience of three years that, “For stock and variety we keep on adding designer pieces fortnightly which keeps us updated. Our customers can get a new stock every time they visit. Moreover, it also depends upon demand as we add more outfit during the wedding season that is from September to April.”

4. Superior Quality And Hygiene

One factor which might put someone off on renting clothes could be the hygiene and quality. Well, all rental stores are very particular about this aspect. Vikalp says that “it is imperative for us to serve perfection and excellence to every customer. The clothes are cleaned and sanitized twice before it reaches the customer. So, when a customer opens their pack, it is nothing different from a brand new attire bought from the store”.

5. Convenience

The idea of bridal fashion rental is more comforting. All you have to do is simply browse the respective sites of the vendor and shortlist your favorite ones. There are various sites which deliver at your doorstep on your desired date. There are other sites which have offline stores where you can also try your outfit before finalizing. Vikalp says that “we are offline till date but we are planning to take it online soon. However, we still have doubt about the online concept in this business as the outfit fitting and dry cleaners are done just a day before the occasion with chances of goof-ups. We prefer customers should try the outfit before taking from us. A well fit outfit can get better compliments for sure. I don’t think that Shaadi ki shopping can be done online without even looking at the outfit.”
